Seton Hall targeting Quinnipiac’s Peter Kiss

The off-season transfer market is starting to heat up with Seton Hall going after Quinnipiac freshman wing Peter Kiss.

Kiss averaged 13.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 2.8 apg as a freshman including 19 points against Seton Hall at the Advocare Invitational in Orlando back in November and a season-high 23 against Niagara in February.

A 6-foot-5 wing from New York City, Kiss has only played basketball competitively for about four years now after playing high school ball at Monsignor Scanlan (N.Y.), Victory Rock Prep (Fla.), and Notre Dame Prep (Mass.).

He has received his release from Quinnipiac but wouldn’t be eligible to suit up until the 2018-19 season, helping to replace the rising senior class; St. John’s has also offered while California, Fordham, and Auburn have reached out.

Elsewhere, Patrick School point guard Jordan Walker appears torn between staying in the class of 2017 and playing prep ball. A series of back-and-forth tweets from both Walker and media indicated that he would do both, with Montverde Academy (Fla.) the likely destination if he preps.

Regardless, Walker was visited by Kevin Willard, Shaheen Holloway, and Grant Billmeier on Wednesday; Walker appears to be a back-up plan to Trevon Duval in 2017 and a primary target in 2018 along with guys like Jahvon Quinerly.

The coaching staff has also reached out to Washington small forward signee Mamadou Diarra, who they recruited out of high school before he pledged to since-departed coach Lorenzo Romar.

I saw that on an ESPN ticker this morning. For as great of a point guard as Nick Galis was for The Hall, he really had a tremendous career as a shooting guard in Europe. He was a lot of fun to watch back in his Seton Hall days, that’s for sure!

CONGRATULATIONS, NICK….you deserve it and made us all proud!!
