In a follow up to the last flurry of Seton Hall recruiting action that preceded a commitment from Myles Powell, the Hall’s coaching staff has offered a trio of new targets and has shown up at a few gyms during this active recruiting period.

First up is 2016 power forward Bourama Sidibe of St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.), who was offered on Thursday, a day after picking up what looks to be his first offer from Kansas State. Not much is out there on the 6-foot-10 big man other than him being a native of Mali before going to Europe and then Kansas.

While the staff is waiting on 2016 guard Bryce Aiken, who is also considering Harvard and Miami (Fla.) and will decide after his currently ongoing official visit to Coral Gables, they are clearly still targeting a 2016 forward. Another 2016 forward target, former St. Anthony and now Brewster Academy forward Taurean Thompson was watched by Shaheen Holloway midweek and is currently on an official visit to Syracuse.

While watching Thompson, Sha’ extended an offer to 2016 guard/wing Alpha Diallo, also of Brewster. The 6-foot-5 prospect is rated top-150 by Rivals and also holds offers from Boston College, VCU, Kansas State and a few mid-majors.

As expected, it’s clear that the staff is looking to add at least one more recruit beyond Myles Powell despite no immediately open scholarships. I wrote more about that here.

Seton Hall’s third recent offer is to 2017 Imhotep Charter (Pa.) guard Daron Russell, who announced the offer on Twitter. The Philly product has a handful of mid-majors that had previously offered including Temple, La Salle and VCU. Here is part of a scouting report on Russell from City of Basketball Love:

Overall: Russell has tremendous upside; although small, this guard was not afraid of the moment one bit in leading his team to the 2015 Public League title and he is the engine of that team as a sophomore. Can’t deny the impact he has on the court even when playing against high-level programs in both high school and on the AAU circuit. Has proven himself to be a mid-major-plus to high-major level guard, and the offers are starting to pour in.

Lastly, Seton Hall checked in on open gyms at Newark East Side (N.J.) and St. Luke’s (Conn.) over the last few days.

The team is expected to hold their first official practice next Friday, October 2nd prior to the Blue & White scrimmage on Saturday.
