In the midst of an impressive showing with the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA’s Summer League, former Seton Hall wing Fuquan Edwin has signed a one-year deal with Israeli Winners League club Ironi Ness Ziona.

The contract is reportedly for $80,000 and has a clause that allows Edwin to opt out of his deal and sign an NBA contract prior to July 28th. According to Edwin’ agent, both numbers are incorrect.

Fu’ was named to the D-League’s All-Defensive team last season after making an impact with the Sioux Falls Skyforce and then played a handful of games for Guaros de Lara of Venezuela after the D-League season.

Edwin has impressed out in Vegas, reaching double figures 4 of 5 times for the Pelicans including 19 points (8-12 fg) in 21 minutes during a quarterfinal win last night; the Pelicans take on the Suns at 8pm (NBA TV) in the semis tonight.

A team that used to play in Israel’s third tier in 2010-11, Ness Ziona finished eighth last season. Former Louisville guard Preston Knowles was a big part of the team last season.

Fuquan was welcomed to Israel on Facebook by former Seton Hall and current Hapoel Jerusalem guard Tom Maayan.
