Eron Gordon to transfer from Seton Hall

Seton Hall sophomore back-up point guard Eron Gordon will transfer from the school.

Eron Gordon (1.5 ppg, .8 apg, 8.2 mpg) becomes the second reserve guard — if you’d also say walk-on Phil Flory is in that category — to leave the team this spring.

The departure shouldn’t come as much of a surprise — I have alluded many times recently how the team has been recruiting transfers and recruits that would be eligible for next season without open scholarships; Seton Hall now has one open spot for next season.

Gordon played a reserve role at 8.2 minutes per game with a max of 14 against Butler in Big East play, but they were needed minutes from a depth perspective and he didn’t commit many mistakes playing in a position that wasn’t natural for him.

This could just mean slightly more time for Myles Cale at the two while Quincy McKnight, Anthony NelsonJordan Walker, and even Myles Powell will be the group that handle point guard duties, in an order to be decided.

I would imagine that Eron will at least wind up at a mid-major relatively close to Indiana.
