If you agreed with my take last week that similarities existed between Seton Hall’s trip to Providence this season and their game at the Dunk last year, then we’re probably on the same page regarding some of the context of the Hall’s pending clash with No. 4 Villanova on Wednesday night.
A flurry of Seton Hall recruiting activity has occurred over the last two weeks as high school basketball gets in full swing and an open recruiting period continues in parallel to the college hoops season.
Facing a gut-check game after getting clobbered by Creighton last weekend, Seton Hall held No. 12 Providence to 30-percent shooting from the field and used exceptional guard play to upset the Friars on the road in a must-have game.
There are a few obvious similarities between Seton Hall’s chance for redemption at No. 12 Providence on Saturday and their trip up to the Dunk last season, but I’m not sure if it’s fair to make the comparison (yet).
