It seems like Seton Hall is doing a lot of “for the first time in X years…” things this season and they’ve just added another to the list. For the first time since 2007-08 when a tough, versatile Brian Laing averaged 18.6 ppg and 6.9 rpg, a Pirate player has earned conference first-team honors.
In search of a win that should leap-frog them over Providence in most projected brackets and supply the first 20-win season since 2011-12, Seton Hall (19-7, 9-5) will host a slumping Friar team on Thursday night at Prudential Center.
There are a few obvious similarities between Seton Hall’s chance for redemption at No. 12 Providence on Saturday and their trip up to the Dunk last season, but I’m not sure if it’s fair to make the comparison (yet).
