The Big East released its annual basketball marathon schedule on Monday to the excitement of Seton Hall being paired with defending national champions Villanova in a Big East Tournament final rematch.

Set to air on Fox Sports 1 at 6:30 on January 16th (about two weeks into the conference slate), the matchup will give the Hall yet another opportunity to snap their 22-year winless drought at Villanova; the game will be played at the Pavilion.

The tilt will be daunting as ever for Seton Hall as the Cats will surely have the BET final on their mind, not to mention a defending national champ status that could intimidate any visitor.

What started as a New Year’s Eve event in its inaugural year, the Big East is continuing its five-game annual tradition which gives the Pirates their most visible game in the event yet; they’ve won all three of their marathon games.

After downing Providence in a double OT thriller back on the eve of 2014, Kevin Willard’s outfit has been paired up with St. John’s and DePaul in games that tipped at noon and 11 a.m., respectively.

Yuck.

That lack of excitement will surely change this year, although most Pirate fans will have to partake via Fox Sports 1 instead of a seat courtside.

The Big East will release its entire slate Tuesday.

Is it November yet?

The marathon schedule in full:
Noon – Marquette at Butler
2 – Creighton at Xavier
4:30 – DePaul at St. John’s
6:30 – Seton Hall at Villanova
9 – Providence at Georgetown
