Following a dismal 7-23 season at South Florida, 6-4 graduate transfer guard Geno Thorpe will visit Pittsburgh and then Seton Hall in the coming weeks.

Conventionally a two-guard, Thorpe (15.1 ppg, 4.6 apg) was thrust into a lead-guard role this past season before, but primarily after point guard Jahmal McMurray left the program in December.
It’s unclear whether Seton Hall is recruiting Thorpe as a back-up point guard option to Trevon Duval, but the former two-year player Penn State sure has some impressive stats for what isn’t a natural position.
While leading his team in scoring, Thorpe finished the season with the 48th-best assist rate in the nation including 15 games of 5+ assists. To compare, outgoing point guard Madison Jones did the equivalent just six times this past season.
Thorpe is said to be a versatile attacker (39-104, 37% 3PT; 84% FT) but has also been pegged for his defending, specifically on the perimeter.
