Seton Hall’s coaching staff has extended offers to North Carolia natives Nate Hinton and Immanuel Bates.
A two/combo guard, Nate Hinton runs with N.C.-based Team Loaded on the AAU circuit and has received 16 offers this month — almost all of which were from high-majors — with the latest coming from Seton Hall.
If he is being recruited as a non-point guard, it seems likely that Hinton can slot in behind Luther Muhammad on the staff’s pecking order for 2018 two-guards.
Cincinnati and Creighton were the only two high-majors that offered the three-star recruit prior to a breakout July that yielded the below highlight clip from the adidas Gauntlet Finale.
The second North Carolina target to catch the staff’s eye over the past few weeks is Immanuel “Manny” Bates.
The 6-10 Team Felton (and former Team Loaded) forward was surely spotted at the Under Armour Association Finals, where he apparently impressed.
A 3-star prospect who just cracked the Rivals Top-150, Bates has received offers from UConn, Purdue, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, South Carolina, N.C. State, Georgetown, Xavier, Louisville, and Virginia since the beginning of May.
One can never have enough top-150 caliber forwards on their recruiting shortlist, but a lot of major programs have called on Bates prior to the Hall, making his recruitment seem like a shot in the dark at best.
Seton Hall has also offered 4-star 2019 forward Eric Dixon of WE R1; Oklahoma State, Penn State, Rutgers, and Georgetown had done the same since April. The Abington, Pa. product is a strong but undersized post forward and was named a USA U16 national team finalist last month.
