Seton Hall offers JuCo guard Chris Darrington

In pursuit of their next floor general, Seton Hall has offered junior college prospect Chris Darrington of Vincennes University.

A 6-foot-1 lead guard who averaged 20.7 ppg and 4.6 apg as a sophomore, Darrington has picked up offers from the likes of Memphis, Nebraska, Tennessee, UNLV, Seton Hall, Colorado and more over recent weeks.

The Toledo, Ohio native ranked third in NJCAA Division 1 free-throw shooting (197-245, 80%) and second nationally in total points this past season. Darrington reached the 30-point threshold eight times including two 40-point games and appears to be more of a combo guard than a pass-first playmaker.

It’s unclear what Darrington’s recruitment status is in relation to other point guard targets (see: Jordan Walker, Trevon Duval), but a backcourt tandem of Khadeen Carrington and Chris Darrington sure would be fun for TV and radio crews.

Duval is looking to decide in late April or early May after some of the NBA draft dust has settled while Walker is still undecided between staying in the current senior class or to reclassify to 2018, meaning a year of prep ball.

Seton Hall is currently stuck between waiting on Duval to make his decision and trying to pull the trigger with other targets. A top-five prospect commands patience from just about any staff in the country, but a late decision that does not go the Hall’s way is tough to plan for as other targets won’t want to wait around as a back-up option.
