Seton Hall handed 8-seed, brutal draw with N.C. State in Wichita

By not taking care of business in New York, Seton Hall let their destiny be controlled. And controlled it was, with the Hall receiving a brutal Selection Sunday draw.

The Pirates will ship out to Wichita and play North Carolina State on Thursday in the same pod as Kansas.

Shockingly, the Pirates were handed an 8-seed by the selection committee after most projected brackets had the Hall as a 7-seed coming into the day.

Fans must now feel hard done by again after the team was sent to Denver in 2016, as this draw feels like a similar slight.

That said, it seems clear that Seton Hall now missed out on a massive opportunity against Butler at the Big East Tournament.

Seton Hall is making their third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance for the first time since 1991-94 under P.J. Carlesimo. The Pirates haven’t won since a 2004 upset of Arizona while also playing as an 8-seed.

Kevin Willard will speak to media at approximately 7:30 tonight.
