Penn State to host Seton Hall in scrimmage

Penn State will host Seton Hall out in Happy Valley when the Nittany Lions and Pirates compete in a pre-season scrimmage on Friday.

In the two-week period prior to the college hoops season, most schools play a combination of exhibitions against non D-Is and scrimmages against D-Is that can’t be watched by anyone outside of staff, officials, etc. — essential personnel.

After taking on St. Joseph’s last year plus George Mason and Boston College in recent years, Seton Hall will play a Penn State team that struggled in the Big Ten a year ago (18-16, 4-14) and made a slight run in the conference tournament.

I heard so many conflicting reports about what happened last year between the Hall and St. Joe’s, I wonder how much weight should be given to any info coming out post-scrimmage…
