LIU Post exhibition to complete Seton Hall preseason

No. 23 Seton Hall hosts Division II LIU Post at 4 p.m. on Saturday in their final preseason test ahead of next Friday’s season-opener.

The Pirates will look to make it three straight preseason successes after beating Boston College 86-71 last weekend in a scrimmage and La Salle 87-74 this week in an exhibition.

Desi Rodriguez continued his hot preseason with another 20-point game on Thursday against La Salle while Kevin Willard went deep on his bench — no Pirate played more than 22 minutes — expect more of the same again today.

Point guard play will remain a topic after Khadeen Carrington handed out five assists without a turnover on Thursday; freshman Jordan Walker scored six and had four assists while turning it over twice.

At forward, Ish Sanogo (7 pts, 4 rebs, 2 asts) played a sixth-man role nicely after Mike Nzei (10 pts, 1 reb) was given the start while Angel Delgado (6 pts, 9 rebs, 5 asts) helped out in many areas but did not dominate in the conventional sense.

This game will not be televised but can be listened to exclusively on WSOU (89.5 FM) with live stats here. Unlike La Salle, I will be covering from Walsh Gym.

Projected starters:
PG – Khadeen Carrington
2G – Myles Powell
F – Desi Rodriguez
F – Mike Nzei
C – Angel Delgado

Score: 89-61

Carrington and Gordon through 1H, only 3 A’s and 3 TO’s. Not so good.
