Big East Tournament canceled

One of the last conferences to shut down their tournament, the Big East scrapped things at the halftime of Creighton-St. John’s due to coronarvirus.

Following suit after an avalanche of cancellations of league tournaments across the country, the Big East canceled the rest of theirs just after noon on Thursday.

There’s speculation about whether the N.C.A.A. will have an abbreviated March Madness tournament, which you think Seton Hall would qualify for, in a month or two.

That said, the situation is incredibly volatile as the country looks set to battle what Italy has for the last few weeks.

It’s obvious basketball will become secondary as everyone braces an at least two-week national event.
